Exclamation Removing 99 Intrigue Steering Wheel

I recently found that my headlights can no longer be turned on using the multifunction switch that also operates the turn signals (the automatic headlight function still works though). Jiggling the headlamp/turn signal lever sometimes gets the lights to work, so I know I need to replace the switch. But first I have to get the steering wheel off, and taking out the two Torx screws on the back of the wheel didn't release the airbag. Is there some hidden fastener I'm missing for removing the airbag so as to allow steering wheel removal? (I have the wheel puller and have taken off lots of steering wheels, but first time on an airbagged car.)

Re: Removing 99 Intrigue Steering Wheel

Yes! There are 4 spring loaded clamps. I used a big flat blade screwdriver short enough to get into the back of the steering wheel in 4 places.

Insert the screwdriver and 90 degree twist. If successful it will popup.

Make sure your battery is disconnected and go have a cup of coffee then remove the bag
