89 Astro Van, a/c schematics?

Of course that's just the way it is.

I have found and ordered the Van chassis, engine, etc shop service manual and the shop service electrical manuals off EBay, but of course with snail mail for delivery it will take another week or so to come in.

I was wondering if there would be a schematic of the lines and associated items withing the ac system. Piping etc and how/where they are run. A basic ac layout?.

Not having worked on the folks van as yet, it will be a slight learning process.

Of course with our hot weather and the ac appearing to be low, I have to do something this weekend. So out with the gauges and see what the system is doing and what it needs.

If, and I am expecting to find something leaking, fix the leak or replace what's bad and I'll proceed to clean/flush the R12 remnents and it's oil, change out the rec/dryer assy. and replace the R12 with 134a. (to include draining, flushing with new oil etc in the compressor and re-installing the comp to the engine compartment. etc.)

As the folks use this as their 2nd vehicle, I have to tear into it with a vengeance and get it cooling as it should.

I have the specs necessary for oil cap and intro weights for the referegerant, so I'm well on my way.

Welcome on your first post to AF
Check autozone site they may have some repair info on it.
One thing to remember if going from R-12 to R 134a cut your freon charge down from 10-15 percent.
It helps to control that r-134a pressure.
Another note to stay legal on it put a change over sticker and R-134a fittings and a high pressure cutoff switch is required if you do not have one.
And say no to that stop leak crap.
