Think I have settled on wheels

Hey all, just wanted to post and get some opinions on the wheels I think I have finally decided to get (in a few months...clutch and flywheel first). They are ASA AR1 Black with Polished Lip 18x8. You can check them out at tirerack.com (they should be the first wheels that pop up for our car). My car is black and after seeing a few black cars around here with black wheels and fat polished lips I think it looks real real good. I think I'm gonna pair the wheels with some BF Goodrich Eagle F1 tires in a 245/45/18 if possible. Im not going to buy the tires online unless I find out for sure they will fit. Im plannin on stoppin by a local tire shop and mocking up a set of tires on the same size wheels I want to check for clearances before I spend like 800+ bucks on tires. Let me know what you guys think of the wheels. I know they arent true BBS wheels, but at least ASA has collaberated with BBS in the production of them so they cant be too cheap I would assume (plus I dont feel like spending 400+ a wheel on real BBS rims that look almost the same).

Re: Think I have settled on wheels

Yeah those would be sick on a black 3g, but I wouldnt put them on anything that wasnt black. Not to bad of a price neither.
I just noticed the sound system you have in your car, thats crazy bro. I wish I could hear it. I got 2 10" solo baric L7's on my long list of things I want. Do you mind telling me what these are?, Kicker SS6.5 Component Front, Kicker SS MB8 Custom rear, Tsunami 2F Capacitor?

Re: Think I have settled on wheels

The SS component front speakers are in my opinion the best speakers money can buy...hands down (retail for the two midrange, two tweets, and two crossovers is like 1200 bucks...i got an awesome deal at discountcaraudio.com for like 550). The component rears are midbass drivers (basically an 8" round carbon fiber woofer that covers the frequencies inbetween the subs and the mids), also the best. I had to make custom brackets to mount both the front and rear speakers because the stock locations were either not round( rears are 6x9), or too small (the fronts are only like 6" round or so). Not a lot of work, but just enough to make me feel good about actually doing something. Go to kicker.com for more info and pics, they look sick as hell too. The capacitor is, well, a capacitor. It's job is to store up energy for short bursts of thumping bass (it helps with the strain on your battery/alternator and sound system, but is still no substitute for a high amp alternator or battery isolator.) The system is real, real, real nice in our cars. Could possible be better if i did a little more custom work to mount some more midrange drivers and midbass drivers, but it is sill really uber clear and ballances out the woofer quite nice. Like I said, check out kickers website for more actual info on the SS series speakers because although they are quite $$, I wouldnt put anything else in the car, or any other car I put a system in.
