head light problem

my head lights are acting up. So when i used to use the unlock button the fogs lights would flash when it unlocked, but a couple of weeks ago one of the fogs lights went out. About three days after that the headlights started to come up when i used the unlock button instead of the fogs flashing. But when the lights go down they make the longest grinding noise after they go down. Now it does it when i lock the car too. I don't understand it, Will replacing the burnt out fog light fix it or what? thanks
Blake

Re: head light problem

I'd have to say try replacing the gear in the headlight motor with one of the brass ones. See where that takes you... I have heard of a worn out headlight gear (which causes that grinding sound you hear) creating strange problems like the ones you listed.

Re: head light problem

Alot of people use this site:
http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/headlightfix/

But you can also find them at these other 2 sites:
http://my.execpc.com/C4/4A/rodney1/firebird/
http://www.rodneydickman.com/retail_new.html

The first site I listed completely explains everything you need to know about the problem. I always recommend that site.
