Issue with my e-brake..
I got my brakes adjusted/tightened/replaced.. whatever you call it. When I got it home again I realized the e-brake had a lot less travel to it, figured 'ok, they just tightened it'. Fine.
It's been about a year now since I got it done and this problem has just been getting worse. When I disengage the e-brake, the light stays on. I have to really slam it down to get the light to go off. If I go over bumps or take sharp turns the light will sometimes (read: usually) come on, at which point I press down on the e-brake and it goes back off. The brake itself never engages, just the light. |

Re: Issue with my e-brake..
Anything in the way of the handbrake, fries/straws/condoms, etc between the e-brake and the frame that would inhibit travel?

Re: Issue with my e-brake..
Nope. Seems almost like an air bubble or something...

Re: Issue with my e-brake..
The emergency brake is just that. It is a direct line to the rear brakes. The E-Brake does not use the brake master cylinder. You can adjust the travel underneath the car.

Re: Issue with my e-brake..
the ebrake is just a cable that goes to the brakes. master cylinder isn't even invovled. get your cables adjusted again

Re: Issue with my e-brake..
Hey hondacivic99sivtec, I think I mentioned that the E-Brake does not use the brake master cylinder.
