Can somebody explain to me why this car is only sold with an automatic transmission ?? What are they thinking ??

I think they were thinking "what is the average age of a guy looking to buy a Mercedes and would he rather spend time shifting or relaxing" and I think they choose relaxing. They shoudl still offer it as an option I think.

This car is really an E430 ,, AMG is a company that modifies Mercedes.... I rather like the BMW M powerd engines cuz they are done by BMW.... Anyways if you looking for a Fast E class of any fast Mercedes ,,, please check Rennetech (spelling is wrong) or a nice little company called Barbus ..

uhhh Psman32@af..... an old guy that wants a relaxing ride wouldn't buy an E55, an E55 is for speed..... they would buy an E430 or an S

yeah i know an E55 is built for speed, but that doesnt mean thats how it will be used. I know someone who owned a Tarus SHO, and said it was just ur average Tarus and there was nothing special about, because he drove it as an average car. No matter what the car is, if it is driven as an average car, the person driving it will always see it as an average car and thats how some of the people who buy the E55 might be.

possibly.... but i think any old guy that wants to drive slow would rather have an S-class than and E55

AMG is the inhouse-tuner for Mercedes, owned by Mercedes (or DaimlerChrysler if you like... ) ...just like Mugen is to Honda, STI to Subaru, Ralliart to Mitsubishi, M to BMW etc...


oh, Mercedes has always built cars for the elder rich people, (to senile to drive stickshift... ) BMW is for the younger, sportier people...


...my opinion...


(often when streetracing here in stockholm, a dude comes with his E55 AMG, and kicks almost everybodys ass.. lost of go in that car!!)
