Question Entire Dash

My car recently got broken into. I had an aftermarket cd/dvd player and it got stolen. Instead of just unplugging the wires, they cut and ripped them out of my dash . Now my entire dash will not wok. The odometer, gas meter, oil level, and message center will not work. I checked some of the fuses but I'm pretty much clueless on what to do next. Any suggestions??

Unhappy Re: Entire Dash

Wow, that sucks! Sorry tohear about that...

Do you have insurance that would cover the damage? The best thing would be to take it into a profesional with a wiring diagram and have them sort out that mess. They could have damaged a lot of curcuits that would take you forever to track them all down...

So soes the truck start and run OK still? I can't imagine driving it too long in that condition though...

Re: Entire Dash

I have insurance but they wont cover it. They said that its damage due to an aftermarket part. They fixed the window though. I recently went to a chevy dealer and they said that they had no idea what it could be. There rates were $80/hr and wiring would probably take forever. I may just have to bite the bullet. But the car starts and drives fine. I let you know how much it costs me. Thanks
