Damn,installed a new alternator,started the car and seconds later the chimes warning went on then the alternator light went on.Autozone checked the old one and said it was no good (same issues as the new one)Bought a new alternator from Napa as Autozone didn't have any. The battery shows 12.0 volts with a Datel digital volt guage? What else do I look for?This car is killing me.First the tensioner broke in half then the alternator,now this>also the gas guage doesn;'t work right and the low fuel warning doesn't go on?

So whats the real problem?
The New alternator is not working?

Did you hook the plug-in back into the aternator?
Your battery could be shot.
Check the voltage when the cars running, it should be 13-14vlts.

The red wire is connected to the alternator and has voltage from the battery.The battery is showing 12 volts with the car running using a Datel digital guage.The tensioner was broken in half a little while ago and replaced by the garage,could they have forgotten to reconnect something other than the red wire?The problem started shortly after this.

thier is a plug that should be pluged in.

And you should be geting more than 12volts, so somehtings wrong. Should get 13-14volts.
