Re: Flowmaster Cat-back system

i believe they use the 50 series in these. hardly any inside noise increase when i put mine on. sounds decent when you get into it though.

Re: Flowmaster Cat-back system

i just got a 50 series suv 2.25/3in cat back flowmaster on my 1999 tahoe and it sounds glorious. I would say that it is a great deal louder than stock, but not TOO loud, and with the windows up its not even that loud. I love it though. I have noticed that when i'm flogging it the temp reaches 210 pretty quickly but drops as soon as i let off. It never used to reach 210 before. Should i be worried?

Re: Flowmaster Cat-back system

How many miles on the 99?

If everything is working ok, you shouldnt see much of a temp change with a little leadfoot action.

Re: Flowmaster Cat-back system

just rolled over to 75,000. Its probably time to flush the coolant but the point was that prior to the exhaust the temp never hit 210. Now it only does when i really get in it.

Re: Flowmaster Cat-back system

UPDATE:

I installed the catback system today and it sounds great. Not too loud, but has a nice deep tone to it. It took about an hour to remove the old and install the new system. For $269 its hard to beat.
