E39 528i se self leveling suspension problem

Hi everyone

I have a E39 528i se 1998 model, first the car started leaning over to one side when i parked it up, only some times though. And now the back has dropped really low and wont come back up and is a very bouncy ride. Any one any ideas if this would mean the shocks need replacing, or self leveling problem, air leak.

Also would a standard E39 shock fit the car without self leveling?

Any help would be appreciated, im desperate please mail me at [email protected].

Thanks

Fraz

no e39 came with self leveling, ever! sound s like a coil spring may have broke or shock are bad.

INCORRECT, EDC was available which is not the same as self leveling. EDC controls the ride of each strut and has nothing to do with vehicle height

well if you'd look more closely you would see this sentance:
FOR VEHICLES WITH
SPORT SUSPENSION+LOWERED+RIDE-HEIGHT
S227A=YES 01PNEUMATIC SPRING, LEFT

That's what I'm trying to say that self-leveling suspension was only for touring and sport variants, not for sedans. Please do a search on the web and you'll see.

I'm going right from the BMW electronic parts catalog. No Sports suspension has self leveling. Believe what you want

Ummm predi you misspelt sentence...

No results found for sentance.
Did you mean sentence (in dictionary) or Sentance (in encyclopedia)?

BTW who is this predi guy? You have a question BAVARIANM is the one to ask.
