WIP: Skoda Fabia WRC - Duval - Monte Carlo 2006

This is my WIP. Don't expect much of it. It's my first resin kit and i'm not pro like everybody else here.
The kit is from the domino collection, www.domino.be and they also have the Red Bull kit from panizzi/aigner in stock.

here is already a little progress


i will put tamiya 206 WRC wheels on it so it will be a lot of work to adapt fine.

you seem to build this right out of the box?

Well, recently I got the Red Bull-Panizi car you mentioned.

I just made some quick comparisson between the model and the reference-fotos. My first impression is, that the rear fenders are not wide enough and on the front fenders the "widening" is too high.
The slots right and left from the cooling opening over the front lip should be higher and the opening on the rear of the front fenders next to the door gap must be reworked, too.

Lots of additional work, I hope I can start soon.

This a potentially interesting build.

I have the 2003 version lying around here (which I'm planning to build into the Armin Schwarz 2005 version ). And as I've never build a resin kit too, I'll be watching you very closely and hopefully I can learn something from you and the advice you get from other readers.

The beginning looks good to me. I'll be looking out for the next update.

By the way: I too can offer a collection of 200+ (detail) images (partly not the best quality I must admit) I collected of the internet. If you need anything, just pm me.

Did you notice that rear wing and spoiler aren't the same in 2005 than in 2003 ??

phil.im going to make a 2005 monte fabia too. and using the REJI earlier kit....i saw some pics that the monte 2005 rear wing is the same as 2003ver? ofcourse some differences about rear fender and interior....if you have any suggestion please pm me or just post? thanks alot

Yes that's right, new rear wing appeared later in the season (new zealang if I remember well...)
here it is at German rally in august:



new rear spoiler must be part of the same evolution.

I've just taken another look at my videos, it seems that in Monte Carlo exhaust pipe has already changed and already ended on the right of the car.
everything else seems to be as 2003/04 version (for the outside at least)

kit is 100 €, can be seen on www.domino.be on Domino collection

for the moment having so problems to paint the body, did not degrease good enough. so body is now in old brake oil to rip of paint and then start over again. Going to be difficult to get it ready for deutschland rally.
