Different Engine Blocks

I think you are confusing blocks with engines. For example Ford makes a Windsor block that they use (or used) to make a 255, 260, 289, 302 and 351 W. They either increase the bore or stroke or both. Off of the top of my head:

Fords
Ford y-block:
239, 256, 272, 292, 312 - old T-birds used these in the late 50s and ealry 60s

Windsor Block:
221, 255, 260, 289, 302, 351 W - 60s and 70s (and 80s the 5.0) is a 302)

MEL (Mecrcury Edsel Line)60s)
383, 410, 430, 462

Clevland (335) block: (60s and 70s)
351C, 400, 351M

'385' block: (70's)
429, 460

FE block: (60s and 70s)
332,352,360,,361,390,406,427

Lincoln Y block:
317, 341, 368

I am less familiar with Chrysler families but I know they made the following engines:
283, 318, 340, 360, 383, 426, 440.

GMs are the most confusing as all 5 divisions made their own engines. (There are 4 different 400s). But here are some of the ones I know:

Chevrolet:
273, 302, 305, 327, 350, 400, 427, 396, 409, 454

Pontiac
301, 307, 350, 400, 455

I know I am missing a lot but I think most of whaat I have listed is accurate.

Re: Different Engine Blocks

In the last hundred years there would have been thousands of different engine blocks produced by all the different manufactors.

Even if you just wanted a list of blocks currently in production, it would contrain hundreds of entries.
