99 Passport hesitating to shift into reverse
My '99 Passport (auto transmission) is hesitating when shifted into Reverse from Park. Typically for one second then shifts, but today lasted around 5 seconds. Had to go back into park and then try again.
Any ideas or help would be much appreciated. |

Re: 99 Passport hesitating to shift into reverse
Check your transmission fluid level.
When was your last transmission service?

Re: 99 Passport hesitating to shift into reverse
I would get the tranny serviced soon. These 4L30E trannys do not like long periods between changes. Typicly 30k miles in between.

Re: 99 Passport hesitating to shift into reverse
I have a 01 Rodeo with 83k that does the same thing. Its been doing it since about 50k and really hasn't got any worse. My last trans service was at about 75k but it still occasionally lags response when going into reverse.
