Hi guys I have a 92 rs 305tbi camaro, its been really good to me, but the transmission just went i figured since i have to change out the transmission why not swap the motor to get a little more fun and power... so guys i'm not great with wiring and welding so i want a swap thats i don't really have to do much to ... i really like the 350 ram jet motor is this a good idea without to much hassel? anyone have a ram jet in their camaro? plz tell me

Re: whats a good motor to swap?

Alot of people swap a lt1/ ls1. The ls1 is a better choice but the price is up there and that's why most people go with lt1 swaps. Personally i've driven both but i have 2 love the lt1. when i had my lt1 camaro i would own my freinds 00 SS from a dig, but from a roll i would pull but then he would beat me in the high end.

Re: whats a good motor to swap?

do a lt1 swap, it is ALOT easyer than the ls1 swap beacuse on the ls1 you have to move you motor mounts and ALOt more crap. Just put a lt1 in it with a 383 stroker kit and a nice cam like LT4 hot cam. Some one on here has a red 3rd gen with that set up, i do not know what happend to him.

Re: whats a good motor to swap?

Drvngstorm05/Dave is the guy with the red third gen with the LT1. I agree with them on the LT1 will be the cheaper/easier swap and the performance difference between a LS1 and LT1 can be made very easily with a few basic mods.

Re: whats a good motor to swap?

You should check out Year One's 400 horse crate motor, seems pretty good for only 3 grand and a 12 month warranty. http://www.yearone.com/serverfiles/f...ain2.asp?cat=G

that looks like a good one, it sounds like he wants a cheep(er) motor replace ment, so either that motor or the LT1

Re: whats a good motor to swap?

Also it has a 12 month warranty so if it comes out to be a dud you can get a replacement..
