Question 86 s-10 cutting out

On my 86 s-10 it has been cutting out real bad for about 2 weeks. I replaced the fuel filter last weekend and the gas that was in the filter was a milky color. after replacing the filter it ran fine for a couple days but now it cutting out as bad as ever. I am wondering if i need to remove the gas tank and drain it or if maybe there is anything i can pourt in the tank? And if i have to remove the tank how difficult a job is it? (I'd like to avoid having to take it to a garage) Thanks for any help.

Re: 86 s-10 cutting out

Dropping the tank isn't THAT hard, just siphon all the gas out and have a friend come and give you a hand. Also, wouldn't hurt to hit all the nuts on the strapping with some PB Blaster the day before the task. In my opinion the hardest part is removing and then putting the lines back on.

But before dropping the tank, I would put some HEET in there and see how that works.

Question Re: 86 s-10 cutting out

White in oil means water. If same for gas, as can happen from bad gas station tanks, maybe a bottle or 2 of gas line antifreeze will help as i think it's supposed to combine with water to help get it out.
