Does anyone know of a adapter for a 91 Caprice that allows you to install a cold air intake? The throttle body is vertical not horizontal like those on the 94 & up, so the kits won't fit the throttle body. Does any one have any suggestions?

Re: Cold air intake
The fourth picture is how my set up looks without the mods. I want to install a cold air intake on a caprice that has the intake system like that. The other pictures are nice but they are showing a different setup with different model cars.

Most of them start with the plastic airhat from a late 80s early 90s fwd Cadillac v8 (get one from a junkyard, along with the bent threaded rod + knob), because it conveniently fits atop our TBI units and provides a way to attach a long sewerpipe, from which a cone filter can be used. In that sense it mimics many of the DIY CAIs used on 94-96 LT1 cars like the Impala SS. The other ones, that don't use the Caddy airhat or the truck-style Airaid equivalent of it, start with the stock GM plastic airbox and than add a second cold air feed to the passenger side, which makes it breathe better and still look like a factory part. They also usually drill more holes in the metal silencer ring that also acts as a support for the back half of the plastic filter box. There's a bit more info here by scrolling approx 3/4 of the way into this post: http://impalassforum.com/noncgi/ulti...;f=33;t=009021 HTH. |
