Rear Speakers 99 Blazer

Is there and easy way to remove the rear speakers in a 99 Blazer 2 door? Or do I have to remove all the plastic from the rear?

Take the door panel off and then 4 screws hold the speaker in. New connector and wires to the GM connector can be squeezed thru the plastic mounting plate. 6.5" speakers.

On a 2 door, the side panel is held on by 2 screws in the door jamb plus the hanger fitting, then the panel is snap tab fitted to the quarter panel. Easy access to the speaker after panel is removed.

Definetly not easy, havent found two screws yet, there was only one screw on the hook in the back. I think the piece is held on by the seat belt bolt, and more.

Re: Rear Speakers 99 Blazer

I have a 2000 2 door Blazer and there appears to be alot more to it than just those 2 screws everyone is talking about. I also dont have 6.5's I have 6x9's but I do know you can fit 6.5's in there with an adapter.

The 6.5's are in the front doors. 6x9's are in the rear.

You're right, I screwed up. I took a look at mine again and It's the hanger/hook and the seat belt bolt that hold the panel on. Everything else are the plastic slide clips holding it on.

I put some 5x8 Blaupunckts in place where the factory 6x9s were. the bracket that holds them is laid out for different sizes. I got mine from Crutchfield, their catalog will tell you what'll fit in there, and they do provide
mod kits if needed.

Re: Rear Speakers 99 Blazer

Yeah, I thought it involved the hanger, and the Seat belt bolt. I'll hopefully have some time to do it later on.
