Re: 88 firebird engine swap help?????

Its probably a 355...which Im guessing is what he means and thats just a bored 350, so Id say yes it will bolt right in. Only thing to watch on any of those engine swaps is that the fuel injection systems match. The PROM and injector sizes, etc matter from engine to engine and some years to year. Basically, you have to make sure that if the original motor was a 350 TPI out of an '88, that the one youre throwing back in has the same TPI setup with the 22 lb injectors to match what the PROM is telling the computer to do with the fuel injection.

then a 355 would be the same block as a 350 but I don't think thats what he means but if so, the car doesn't car how many cubes are on the inside cause the outside of the engines are identical.

Re: 88 firebird engine swap help?????

Perhaps he meant the "346", better known as LS-1. THAT would take some head scratching and serious thought, along with a few bucks... The 355 IS a .030 over 350...

FWIW
