1994 talon tranny problems

replace engine and tranny out of a car that was upside down engine works great but tranny not shifting right ?is it the sensors?could it be dirt from being upside down ? where should i start? thanksok sorry guys It's an automatic when i first start car put it in drive it works fine 1st 2nd 3rd od when i stop and start again if i put it in drive i start in drive no 1 2 3 or od i can put it in 1st it works if i then shift manually but but no lower gears if i start in drive

Well what do you mean by not shifting right? Is it an Auto tranny or manual tranny? Try putting your car info in your sig that way you never have to say what kind of car you have ever again. If its a manual tranny, was the clutch all nasty when you put the engine and tranny into the car?

Im guess its manual, What kind of fluid did you use, did you adjust the clutch cable ?.

Sounds to me like something is fucked up inside . Have you changed the fluid and filter? Try that and see if it helps at all. You could try installing a new torque converter, but I don't think that's the base of your problem.
