93 TP keyless entry
I am wanting to get the keyless entry working on my van. Purchased it not too long ago with no FOBS.
I have 2 FOBs from different vehicles, ford and Acura. One is 372 MHZ and the other is 315 MHZ. The original Fob was a 315 MHZ. I have tried programing both but don't work. Does the fob have to be the correct one for the vehicle or can you program one from a different vehicle?

A person I know works for a large electronics company (non automotve). I will ask him if he knows anything about the electronics for these things. It seems that the FOB sends a radio wave signal to the reciever and the locks open. Sounds simple, maybe simple fix. But maybe a person needs the software to make them work? ???
As much as electronics are hard to fix, the more their is on the net.( just look at all the pirated TV satilite systems out there, all software related and some electronics) The after market seems to be able to make ones that work. Why can't we? If I find anything out I will reply back.

Their is something in the micro chip . I have gotten some info from my source but he is working on it.
If I figure that an after market retailer could sell me an after market part then it couldn't be too hard to get them working. I just have an inkling that it is a software issue. Not for me to steal a car but to get my old banger locks going. Must be someone out there that has knowledge. The satilite industry is doing well with all the pirating and like I mentioned it is mostly software related to get a reciever working and have all 900 +channels. Lots of web sites that deal with it. Just have to know where to look and what to do.

Was at the wrecker today and found a 93 Transport that came in with all the Fobs attached. I brought them home and didn't work. WEnt back and got the recever and now it works. Got lucky to find all the Fobs and recever together. $15.00
