Plugged exhaust? Bad Cat converter?
My 92 Stealth has a bad miss at most speeds. I'm the one who is on the verge of selling it but I want find and fix the problem. Was told today that my problem could very well be a plugged exhaust/cat converter. About 20 years ago I had a 1973 Plymouth Road Runner with the same problem and come to find out the exhaust pipe did indeed collapse on the inside causing it to run rough at all RPM's. I'm thinking of taking off the cat converter and seeing what's up with it. My question is if it's the problem do I have to put a new converter back on or just run a new pipe in place of it? Thanks for the advice!

Re: Plugged exhaust? Bad Cat converter?
If you have keep your car smog legal you have to replace the cat.
The car will run fine without the cat, it just might be a bit louder and the engine might feel perkier (freer flowing exhaust). |

Re: Plugged exhaust? Bad Cat converter?
Are you getting any check engine lights? If so, have you tried pulling the codes from the ECU?
