it can be done but you have to drill and tap the block for an oil line. you'd be better off to get the whole d16z6 engine

no no no...there's no drilling and all that for a mini-me swap..its pretty much bolt-on....you'll want to swap your car over to MPFI though.... its not too hard but I still advocate the full z6 swap over the head swap....but it does work

you can do it one of two ways...convert your harness over to OBD1 by means of repinning or with a conversion harness and run the p28 ecu which will control vtec and have all the proper fuel curves....or swap to MPFI and run a si ecu and use RPM activated switch to operate vtec....not too big a deal..no matter what swap you do, you're gonna have to a bit of wiring with the dx

U want more power eh? VTEC to match? Swap out the d15 and swap in the d16y8!!!! It isn't a very expensive swap if you do just the basics..

i was always told that if you're putting the 1.6 head on 1.5 block you have to drill and tap for the oil line but if you're putting 1.6vtec head on 1.6 non vtec block it will bolt right up. sorry if i was misled and gave you false info
