OBDII code reader

I'm looking for an OBDII code reader.
Simple, reliable and not expensive as usual

I bought the can obd2 3110 . With cheaper code readers you can only get the code and thats it. Then you have to crack the manuals or go online to see what the code means, I guess that is not a big hassle. The 3110 is the most up to date and will work on anything on the road from 1996 right up to 2008. And it is also flash upgradable by downloading any updates from the web site. You plug the scanner in, turn the key on and press the link button , if there are codes stored it will ask you what make you have(ie, ford chev etc.) it will then display the codes but along with thier deffinition right on the scanner it self. You can also drive with it plugged in for those mistery problems. It will also save the data in a freeze frame, telling you your temp , speed, map pressure ect. when the code was first entered. I live in canada so it was $250. And it didn't come with the case and pc cable, and software. You can then bring it in the house and hook it up to your pc via serial port and have all the info up on the screen , and print custom reports ect., hell you could start your own bussiness! just kidding, the fact that it is upgradable means it should be good for maybe 10 years, and when you enter the vehicle make you get the exact definiton for the code without the research, the same code on a dodge and chev could mean two different things, thats what makes it easy. but if you have a laptop, you could install the software on it and buy an interface cable, just a thought.

Can you provide a link to some software I can install on lap top to take "to go" thanks.
