Speedometer gear source???
Speedo quit working in my daughters 92 Rodeo. Disconnected the cable at the tranny and spun it. Speedo moved. Pulled the speedo gear housing at the tranny and the driven gear teeth are chipped and ground up. Drive gear on tranny looks fine. Can these gears still be found at Isuzu dealerships? Or is there an alternate source? It is a 21 tooth unit. Also guessing it is a 4L30E Overdrive tranny? Thanks

Re: Speedometer gear source???
Don't forget a Honda dealer if you get desperate. I don't have a local Isuzu dealer any longer. St. Charles Automotive in MO has OEM stuff if you want to go through an Isuzu dealer.

Re: Speedometer gear source???
I have both Isuzu and Honda dealerships close by. What would be the difference? Any? Would they still carry the gears for a 92 model? Thanks

And remember dealer OEM parts only hurt one time. If a 4L30E There might be a chance that a GM gear would fit it. Also some transmission shops or transmission parts places may have it. MT

Re: Speedometer gear source???
Well, $46 freakin' dollars later for a simple speedo gear, it works again.
