b18a engine .. worth it?

well ive been to a new tuning shop lately... CWS tuning, in regina, and they really seem like they know what theyre doing... the owners VW rabbit runs 12.5 (they have it on video ect.) and they specialize in engine swaps.. (recent one was a supra TT motor in a newer bimmer - TL'ed 2 weeks later ... but ya.. they said one of the best honda swaps theyve done is the integra LS motor (1.8 with 140 horse and shitloads of tourque) in a 5th gen civic... they said it squeled into 3rd.. and was mad fast.. so im bought... its 5 grand for the swap canadian (3grand american).. thats everything included done and done.... so is it worth it boys??

B18a

Ask them how many miles are on the motor and if their goin to put in a new clutch, timing belt, water pump and the other maintance items. Ask them what ecu they want to run with it. The best ecu for a B18a is a 91 Civic Si. Do they make their own mounts or do they use kits ? The only mount that you have to move/modify is the mount on the tranny and you have to move the back mount over to the set of holes to the right. The swap isn't that hard. I have done this swap before and i made my mounts for my friend and it took me 2 days from start to finish. I would ask them how much they would charge to put in a B16a. I would rather have the Vtec. I would pay about $2500 for the b16a and about $2000 for the b18a (american). Just make sure that they don't half ass things.

WHOLY FUCK! 5Gs Canadian for a B18A!? If you're going to pay that much money at least make damn sure they're selling you the 140hp one instead of the 130hp one.

Personally for that kind of moolah I think I'd be at least wanting the B16A. Better tranny and NA potential with bolt ons than a B18A, faster. 20 more HP.. 15 less lbs-ft of torque though, but still.

5Gs you should be getting at least a B16A swap.. I wouldn't be paying any more then 3500 for a B18A swap.
