Question 2001 5.9 first to second shift problem

here's the deal the other day i pulled out of a gas station and put the pedal to the floor, wasn't paying attention to the RPM's and and next thing i know i'm bouncing off the rev. limiter, as soon as i let off a little bit it shifted to second. So later that day I figured i would see if it would do it again, and it did.
I haven't tried it again to see if it was still doin it.

Does anyone know what would cause this problem?, Thanks

I read that it could be the Governor Control System... the Governor Solenoid and the Transducer...

speed sensors, inexpensive and easy to fix. do both, 1 on the rear pumpkin and 1 on the trans. buy them at an auto parts store. once you see what they look like they will be easy to spot under the truck.
