Question ok antenna wire ripped *Pics* and progress

ok i know i need an antenna adapter ...does that just go over the one that there is now or do i have to cut the antenna wire and put a new head on. When i pulled out the old deck i noticed that the wire was holding on to the metal piece by 1 thread of wire the rest were ripped

what should i do? how tp fix it ? usless to try?


is there only one kind of antenna adapter? which do i need?

you can pick up the adapter at most auto stores, there is no need to buy it online. And they just fit overtop of the existing anteanna plug. So if it is broken, you will have to fix it somehow.

and i looked @ advance auto parts.com and they list it as 6.44 + shipping.


i'll sell it for for $2 +shipping rounded up to the nearest dollar. USPS priority mail.

not much of a trick to it...

tear the head off, strip the wire back about an inch and a half, twist up the metal strands neatly, stick that twisted copper up into the head and electrical tape the head to the wire.

electrical tape doesn't stick well if it gets dirty so be careful and waste tape if you have to.

i wouldn't use metal tape.


then once you've re-assemblied your antenna cable, use the adapter you're purchasing from me and connect your favorite brand stereo and enjoy your music.



i at least deserve a 1 dollar paypal donation for the write up.(jk)


(but i've been on mandatory vacation since 5/30 and don't go back until 8/14 so ya know..... )
