Knocking noise

I own a 1999 ford ranger, v6

Ive had the maf sensor changed ,all the plugs and wires, and it still has a knocking noise when I accelerate. Does anyone know what this may be and can it be fixed.

Have the codes been scanned? Please describe the noise a little more, only at certain times? Location? Louder, quieter at different engine RPMs? It's a possible exhaust leak, the engine could be running too lean, something screwed in the valve traine, or a bad bearing. Could also be some other things as well. I might test the oil pressure if you don't have an accurate gauge in the cab.
