1999 Civic Si

This happened last week, just thought I'd post about it because I was bored and a friend just reminded me of it. Anyways... I was coming home from the TK Performance meet on Wednesday, and on my way out of the parking lot I see this blue civic following me out. Logically, I knew he wanted to run because people typically follow you out to try and get you to race. He was a few cars back and got stuck at the light, so I kept going at the speed limit ~45, until I see him flying around the corner to catch up to me, front tires spinning like crazy, and I could hear his exhaust from behind me a mile or so down the road (). When he got up next to me, that was when I realized it was an Si, and my friends always told me those years were the faster models and that they would hand me my ass, but I decided I wanted to see how right (or wrong) they were.
I'm still doing ~45 when he drops back a few cars for no apparent reason, but shortly after starts to floor it to pass me... my assumption was another ricer flyby, but I didnt want that to happen. So I gun it when he's about to get up to my rear bumper, and since he had the jump... he had about two cars on me when I started "racing." Well we're both going, and by the time I get up to about 70, I realized I'm pulling on him... and I'm wondering why his infamous VTAKK hasnt kicked in yet and started putting buslengths on me (), but when I got it up to 105... I had him at my rear bumper again. I let off because traffic was coming up and wanted to try and get some info. out of him, but his dumbass kept going full speed into traffic, weaving in and out of cars and soon disappeared from my site. I made my turn and went home.

Cliff notes: beat an Si, read the story you lazy asses.

Oh, and for reference, this is EXACTLY what the car looks like, same color, rims, grille, front lip, etc. If this was a misbadged DX or something, he sure did a good job at posing. Only mods I could tell was the very low drop, loud exhaust, and 3 guages on the A-pillar.

Nice kill. I don't care for Mustangs but I like 'em better than Civics.

Yea I just can't wait to get it finished. But the Corolla aint as bad as I thought it would be because I said "I don't want a COROLLA" when I first seen it but it was $700 and had Pwr. Windows, Pwr. Locks, Pwr. Sunroof and a nice Pioneer stereo and I don't have to worry about thing breaking because it's a Toyota

Yeah, I here you on that, my '88 MR2 is still running good as stock... pretty low mileage though (~65k) but for its age its still pretty nice.

Re: 1999 Civic Si

Oh snap, hahah, I see it now, some silver is coming through around the fog lights, just had to take a closer look since the pic is kinda small, but still a nice car none the less. If you ever need to paint it a two tone in those colors would be sweet.

/thread highjack, back to the civic SI

Any chance he was boosted or were they just temp gauges and such??

If he was boosted I'm pretty sure the outcome would have gone in his favor... my guess is the typical temp, A/F, and oil pressure guages.

Like I said, it if wasn't an Si, the car was very convincing otherwise.
