please help! trying to replace the rear tail light on JGC
can somone please help me, i need to repalce the rear tail light on the lower left hand side of a 1999 jeep grand cherokee. Can someone tell me how to get the old one out, and i can figure out how to put the new one end. thanks tommy

I don't know if the '99 is similar to the '94, but on the '94 I opened the reer lift gate, unscrewed about 3 bolts (all are visible around the edges of the light housing), and the whole light assembly came out. Then the bulbs popped out kind of like a headlight bulb. Usually you just have to poke around for the bolts. If it doesn't come out easily, there's another bolt or screw hiding somewhere.

You're right, there are 2 phillips head screws on the sid when you open the liftgate. Remove the screws and the whole tail light unit comes out with a twist to the side. Very easy to replace bulbs.
