Have another problem just wondering about. What would cause my car to slouch down in the back when i come to a complete stop. Then when i let off the brake peedle it raises back up. I'm thinkin its the drum brakes but not sure. Any suggestions? Also can you give me your input on what you know about the conversion kit for the rear brakes to switch to disk brakes in the back. Is there anyway to avoid paying so much for the conversion kit or would it be best to go with the conversion kit allready together? Please respond ... Thanks

Re: Rear Brakes
I don't know man, but I'm pretty sure that brakes wouldn't cause your car to lower, I would think it's gotta be something with the suspension. But like I said, I don't know just going by my thoughts.

Re: Rear Brakes
dude... drum brakes rarely engage when you push the brake pedal in FWDs... they're usually only engaged when you handbrake....
your rear is dipping because your shocks are fucked.

Re: Rear Brakes
So i should replace suspension on it? What would cause it to when you brake when its coming to a stop almost it starts to shutter like its liddin on the rotors cus the pad isnt' grippin or something. its weird i rotated tires yesterday and while i was down there i checked brakes the brakes looked okay.It only does it from time to time.

Re: Rear Brakes
So from that , that must have ment when i had the car at first someone told me that they took a sharp corner at 45 in their civ n the sign said 15 their civic had lowering springs n 17inch enkie rims with parelli tires. well i was a smarta ss n did it to. i said i can take it at 65 so what did i do i attemtped it. he was in the car with me when we came round the corner all u heard was the tires screching. when it came roung it fishtailed n i tryied to bring it back when i did it spun n hit a 180 n i brought back after it spun a full turn n hit a 360, it then fishtailed n slowly tunred into another 180 n i couldnt get the tires to grib right again n we went over a dicth n landed n a fences after that the only thing that had broke was my corner light n it put a small dent in me drivr side fender n put sum minor scratches on my car from fence. i had goodyear tires on my car sittin stock lol. i hate those goodyears lol i was lucky rthe car didnt flip. after that i havent tried anything stupid lol. So im guesiin that what made my rear suspension blow then cus that happend back when the super bowl sunday was playn. n ive been dealing with the problem ever since.

Re: Rear Brakes
for one, you defently SKREWED YOUR SHOCKS. for two, you could have wrecked you car trying something like that. but that was your decision. but i've done something like that when i was younger so who am i to judge

to do the rears alone (struts only) was $120 for me, i had all the tools tho. To do the rears + springs which i did, it was $270 and that was replacing the springs with eibach pro kit springs, im sure factory would be cheaper. complete suspension ran about $600 thats all 4 struts, and all 4 springs with a few side purchases needed to complete the project in my garage. those are sensa trac struts and eibach springs. not sure what your looking at there, if its 1 wheel or both rears or all 4 thats why i expanded the prices a little. to have it done at a shop, add about 1.5 hours of labor per wheel at $80+ an hour.... bare minimum. |

momentum and weight shifting and other physics terms provide an answer to that question
