I have a 98 Ultra and the gas hand has jumped past the peg. I would like to get the dash out and try and fix it. Does anyone know how to remove the dash? I prefer not to remove it in little pieces. -} Has anyone else had any problems with their gas gauage like this.

My 97 PA has had this happen several times. To remove the plastic panels to work your way to the gauge, start by removing a screw on the drivers side behind a vent cover. (vent feeds door ventilation) Then the rest of the panels just pop off, allowing you to get to the guage assembly. You may have to lower the steering column to get enough room. There are 4 screws holding the guage assembly which you remove in order to get the clear lens off the assembly. Now you can just move the gas guage pointer back to where it belongs. Replace everything in reverse and you are good to go. I have found that not topping off the gas tank seems to keep this from recurring.

Re: 98 PA dash removal Gas hand jumped peg
Thanks Richard for the reply, I have pulled many a dash out in my day but could not see where the screws were in this one. Hope you have a good day.
