Question How to deactivate factory alarm?

Ok, heres the deal...

Recently we bought an used 97 4runner Limited for my mom (it works perfectly), now yesterday while I was cleaning the carpets I found the Shock Sensor under the drivers dashboard (part # 00014-S201) and after further inspection I found the Main Security Module (part # 00014-S200) disconnected.

When I pluged the alarm conectors the alarm activated, I've tried disconnecting the battery cables and then plug the alarm connector but no luck, the alarm activated again and since we don't have the transmitter we can't turn it off.

While googling aroung I found a thread on this formus about a comptible transmiters and how to program them, but they specify that the alarm must be turned off in order to program the transmitter.

I haven't taken the truck to the dealer in hopes that someone could be able to tell me how to deactivate the alarm, then I'll buy a compatible transmiter and do the programing myself in order to save some cash.

Thanks beforehand

Re: How to deactivate factory alarm?

Have u tried using the key in the door? The nissans and infinitis can be disarmed by unlocking the drivers door.

Re: How to deactivate factory alarm?

I just tried your suggestion, and it didn't worked :-(

I'm gonna take the truck to the dealer next week to see what they can do.

Thanks for your suggestion.
