Turndown Exhaust Tips

I'm looking for some new turndown tips. I decided I don't want any exhaust showing from the back of my car, so I decided to cut off the welded flowmaster tips. But I need turndowns so I don't melt my bumper.
The only problem is I can't find what I'm looking for. I don't want long tips because I don't want them showing. I pretty much want them dumped right where I cut, but all I can find is 9"-12" turndowns.
I want something really short, so where can I find some or any suggestions?

Re: Turndown Exhaust Tips

I've only seen turndows right after the mufflers. If you can't find what you're looking for, cut the exhaust pipes afther up so the the longer turn-downs end up at the same place.

(Not that great of a pic - and sideways too - but you get the point)

If I were you I would try to have them pointed so that they blow the exhaust from under the car...

Re: Turndown Exhaust Tips

Thanks Jim, that's exactly what I was looking for, but none of those popped up on my searches. They just don't say how long there are, but in the pics, they look short enough. I guess I'll try those out.
These were the only ones I could find.

Those Gibson's were more of a show piece than a funtional turndown.

Jeg's and Summit are good places to look at when you're looking for performance stuff at reasonable prices. Also, when you call to order, they'll give the dimensions, etc, if you ask them. If you order over the net and aren't positive about what you're buying then you're taking a chance that will irritate the shit out of you as you look at your maro and know it's not the way you want it. (Mine is driving me nuts.)

Good luck.

Re: Turndown Exhaust Tips

By the way... turndowns make the exhaust quite a bit louder. At least in my case they do... I can't even have a conversation in my maro.

Re: Turndown Exhaust Tips

I don't think these will make mine louder, but that would be awesome if they did. I'm putting them on a regular catback, not true-duals or anything. Just to tuck the pipes under the car and keep my bumper from melting.
I didn't think about that, but I might check out autozone.

Re: Turndown Exhaust Tips

Yeah well, I'm running headers into 3" exhaust... it's louder'n shit to start with. Shortening up the exhaust and having it resonate under the vehicle makes it ridiculously loud, but fun.
