94 Buick Transmission problems

I own a 1994 Buick Century 3.3 Liter engine. When I accelerate too quickly the engine kicks into first gear and a Service Engine Light comes on. After this happens and I have to stop for a light or stop sign the car has no power. Seems like it is in a high gear. Will move just no tranny power it seems like. The problem seems to be worse in the hot weather we have been having.

Any ideas what it could be??

TIA,

Gary

Re: 94 Buick Transmission problems

Check your Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid. They can get sticky leaving your torque converter in the lock up position.
