Traded In The 2005 Impala Today
My LS was a really great car, had it since March 2005, 13.9 K on it. Never had to dealer for anything, worked great. The 3.8 engine great. My only problem was the seats, after 3-4hrs, my back bothered me no matter how I put pillows in different spots etc. I looked around at the GM dealer and most of the seats in the various new cars appeared to be the same, kind of a buldge in the lower back area. I also have a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan with 114K that seemed to have much better seats for me at least. I went down and traded the Impala in for a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country, seats much better, hope the rest is as good as the Impala.

"2000 Dodge Grand Caravan with 114k"-I'm am truly surprised to hear about any Chrysler product making it to that point with out investing many times what the vehicle is worth in parts and labor, at what point did the tranny go?

Re: Traded In The 2005 Impala Today
Glad to hear you're doing well with it-My father sold his 2000 Chrysler Voyager, I believe it had a 3.3, - there was some recall on that I believe with the tranny-anyway, that thing saw more rides on a tow truck than any other vehicle that was less than a year old and had less than 5k on it. He could actually see shavings on the stick. He sold that one when we noticed the tranny was really on its way out around 50k. Prior to that we also had an 89 that was also purchased new but was primarily used as a spare but it spent a good deal of time being serviced as well and that one left on a junkyard flatbed after a tranny that was on its way out and a rear axle that had partially dropped.
My mother had a 91 New Yorker and the tranny on that went at around 70k along with quite a number of problems itself. If anyone is wondering why they purchased 3 Chryslers new- my father's friend used to be a salesman there and he basically sold them at dealer invoice. Tim |
