Installing lowering springs
I'm going to be helping a friend of mine install some lowering springs (Eibach Sportlines) in his 95 240SX soon. Now, I've installed springs before on plenty of different cars, and I've done some searches on some of the 240SX forums, but I can't seem to find much any info on how hard/easy it is to do the springs on the rear (as you can probably tell, I haven't messed with IRS too much). The fronts look pretty self-explanatory, but I can't tell just from pictures how hard it's going to be to do the rear springs.
Any good directions or step-by-step guides out there I missed? |

Re: Installing lowering springs
even though its an IRS setup works just like any Spring/Strut combo...very easy and once you pull it, its pretty self explanitory

Re: Installing lowering springs
yea you should have no problem figuring it out once you get down to it. Just use a spring compressor lol.......i found that out a hurt knee and dented garage door later lol. I got anxious what can i say. Although all i did was cut my springs since i had coilovers on teh way.....just couldnt stand the 4x4 gap with my rims on the car.

Re: Installing lowering springs
I know this thread is a little old, but I need some help. I started installing these late yesterday (Sunday). I finished up the front springs today and was just about to start the rear, but I can't seem to figure out what interior pieces need to come out to get to the top strut bolts. I know that they are up next to the speakers on that upper panel, but how does that piece come off?

Re: Installing lowering springs
Ben, I'm doing the exact same things to my car. What you are looking for is a small panel about the size of a pack or cigarettes on each side of the interior. With these removed, you can access the top of the strut tower. Its a little difficult to get at the nuts, but it can be done without removing the whole side interior panels. Good luck with the project.

Re: Installing lowering springs
I finally figured it out. On this car, you just have to let down the rear seat and pop out all of the gray plastic retainers that hold that package shelf/speaker cover panel on. These are still by the far the easiest struts/springs change I've ever done though.
