So today I finally got my new flo-pro muffler installed, and I must say I'm pretty pleased with it. I went with the flo-pro mx502 with 3" flow tubes and left the stock pipes going from the engine to the muffler and then put a 3" pipe from the muffler to the tip.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ITs like Christmas in July! ![]() ![]() ![]() In order to make room for the 3" pipe they had to re-route it around the other side of the shock and cut out one of the spare tire brackets, so no more spare tire under the car. but the previous owners ran over the jack once and busted it so it wouldn't have done much good to have a spare tire anyways. I dont think we're able to embed videos in a thread so click the picture below to watch the video. First I just kind of rev it a little bit up to about 4,000, then I do a drive by, and finally I video from inside the car with the windows up then I roll them down towards the end. ![]() I think the best part about it all so far is today when I was getting it inspected (now that I no longer have an exhaust leak) the guy inspecting it was like 'I really like the exhaust system you got on that'. I still failed inspection though, burnt out liscense plate bulbs and he was going to charge $1.50 for the bulb and $12.50 labor! $12.50 to put in a lightbulb! gee I think I'll do that one myself, thanks. I was a little ticked but he complimented my exhaust so its all good. Let me know what yall think about it. thanks, -Josh |

Re: New Muffler! *With Pictures and Video*
Sounds good, little too drony for me, but glad you are happy with it.
Also, do you have speed bumps in your area? What's up with your interior sounding like a tin can with marbles in it?

Sounds pretty good. If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost for the muffler and the tip.

Re: New Muffler! *With Pictures and Video*
typically I ride with the windows down and stereo up, I usually dont notice the rattles that way, and there's really only two big rattles; the driver door panel and the thing that covers the jack in the back, I'm holding out untill I get new speakers before I get some sound deadening in there that way I wont tear up those little door pins too much taking the panel on and off so it will fit as tight as possible. And yes our neighborhood does have alot of big dips that if you take going faster than about 35 you can get a little air, its for water drainage... I bought the muffler from completeexhaust.com for $66.87 after shipping and I got the tip from a distributor in austin, tx for $50.91 after shipping its flo-pro part number sto80.

Re: New Muffler! *With Pictures and Video*
I would start slowing down for those bumps, they are causing the rattles and shaking the shit out of your truck.
Sound deadening won't fix it.

Same muffler I got. I kept the stock piping though. Just add yourself a good Cold Air Intake and listen to it get deeper.

Re: New Muffler! *With Pictures and Video*
Why is it backfiring? Is it normal if you have a performance exhaust?

Re: New Muffler! *With Pictures and Video*
Its not backfiring its unused gas igniting in the exhaust pipe its normal.

That is what is causing all your interior pieces to rattle and come apart, along with probably wearing the heck out of your suspension. Just trying to help bud.

Re: New Muffler! *With Pictures and Video*
How much did you pay for the muffler? Im thinking of putting a muffler called DynoMax, it cost about $45.00 US , Im not sure if they are any good though.
