Dr. window lift motor.

I have a 92 2 door 4x4 blazer with power windows and locks.

The window barely works( only works when it wants to) and only goes down in incriments, there are long pauses even stalls to just not wanting to roll up at all.

The door lock works off the passenger switch just fine but not off the driver and I have brand new switches I bought and they didnt work.

Has anyone had this problem? Im half tempted to convert to manual windows and locks because of this.

Is there a way to test these motors and switches?

Thanks.

Re: Dr. window lift motor.

My driver side window does not go up or down either but the motor does run.
The good thing is, i can pull up or down the glass by hand.
The other 3 windows work but they move very slow.

Re: Dr. window lift motor.

wow I have a 92 also mine is a 4 door I had those same EXACT problems.....

I did not test my motor at all which was not smart but i was sure it was just a bad motor. To fix it i just bought a motor off of ebay and replaced it myself.

I do not know how to fix the power lock on my drivers side either. It feels like something broke off because its really easy to move. I took the door panel off and wiggled it around and it worked until i put the panel back on go figure

look at this site for the window http://www.a1electric.com/s10motor.htm

Re: Dr. window lift motor.

My side glass for the doors (2dr) rattles when its barely down, could the regulators be bad and holding the glass? mine operate easier in the rain.......I did find some clear goo all over the actuator and lift motor and harness after taking the panel and paper off.wtf is this stuff?

Nice link. Thanks this helps ALOT.

Re: Dr. window lift motor.

Its probably just some grease its supposed to be there

My windows rattle when they are barely down too but its an old car and everything else rattles so I dont really worry about it that much

I hope so cause its caked in it, I'd expect the windows to be tight in the channels like manual ones are.

Re: Dr. window lift motor.

Just wondering, have any of you ever lubed your window tracks? Not just the ones in the door but the rubber channels as well.

No,I did clean them out though when had the panel off with compressed air and wd-40, I have some grease I can use in the channels, hopefully it works.
