Trans. problem??

Hello all

I just picked up this nice 91 mpv few days ago. I bought it at auction for dirt cheep. With a fresh bat. installed nothing powers up. The only information listed was that it had mechanical problems and was a donation. So far I have found two blown fuses. One fuse is the 80 amp main under hood ps side fuse block. The other is under the dash, it 's a 15 amp labled roof what ever that means, dosen't say in the owners book. Ok pulled the 80 amp and of course I don't have any of those odd fuses so I jumpered it for testing purposes with a thin wire. It started to smoke the wire, so something seems to be shorted. I guess I should mention that the engine is not stuck, That is not the problem. It seems to be electrical. Any help would be welcome, I am not at all familiar with this car. I don't have a whole lot of extra time right now, if some one could point me in the right direction that would help alot.

Thanks Mike

The trans is messed up,any one removed one these ????

Ok the electrical problem solved, easy fix with replacing some fuses. Got the van running in about 5 min. However I soon found that the trans is mesed up. It has no 3rd gear and slips in 1st and 2nd. The fluid looks clean and dosen't smell burnt. This van looks like a it's a pain in the as to work on any thing. So I am not looking forwad to pulling the trans my self. Any one done a trans job on one of these?

Thanks Mike

Trans. and smoking problem

I forgot to mention that the trucks smokes as well, could be from siting. I have no idea when it ran last. The oil change sticker says 2004 and it's right at the mileage to change the oil currently. Van has 140k on it. Any ideas what else could be causing the smoke.

Thanks Mike
