02 sensor problem

i ran the code for my 97 Runner and it came back with 02 sensor circuit malfunction (bank 1 sensor 1)

does anyone know what that means? will it be able to work itself out?

Probably need to replace the HO2 sensor. Bank 1 sensor 1 is the sensor in front of the cat. converter. Make sure you get the correct sensor. Bring your VIN to a Toyota parts counter and get a part number from them. There are two different types of bank 1 sensor 1 sensors.

No, it is not hard to replace. You may need a rust penetrate on the nuts. Don't let any contaminants get on the new sensor.
