truck will not craank over

hey guys I got a new battery for the truck and it will not crank over it I jump it off it will start up. If I turn the key off it will not start back up the starter will not even turn over what is going on???


this is a 2000 silverado V8

Make sure the battery connection is on tight, my truck would do the samething when my postive battery connection was loose , nothing would come on or start, but when i jump start it , it would work.

I feel foolish it was my POSITIVE cable was very corroded I cleaned it off and now everything is fine.

Atleast it didn't cost you money, it cost me 166 dollars to figure it out it wasn't my alternator , but a loose connection on the battery that would work and not work somedays.
