Does any aftermarket wheel fit Tamiya Supra?
I have a Tamiya Supra that needs some wheels. I ordered some Fujimi Volk TE37 17" wheels. However, after reading some of the posts here, I realize that there is almost no chance that these are going to work. I don't have a lathe to make them fit (I don't even have a Dremel.) and they are probably going to be too small.
Do any of you have any recommendations for aftermarket wheels that will work for me? How do I know which size (17", 18", 19") to choose? Does it just depend on the look I'm shooting for? Thanks for your help and all of your posts. John B |

aftermarket wheels don't fit tamiyas without modification. Fujimi wheels fit right onto fujimi. XS tuning wheels fit revell and some fujimi without mods. Sorry dude

Re: Does any aftermarket wheel fit Tamiya Supra?
Thanks again, Mark. I was hoping. It just seems that there is a really large market there for a company that can supply wheels for Tamiya.
In the modification thread you cited, what do you do about the front wheels? I guess that you would have to do some machining to get them to fit. What if I just take the male part off of the stock Tamiya wheels and glue it on the aftermarket wheels? I suppose I'll have to give it a try when my wheels get here. JB |

Re: Does any aftermarket wheel fit Tamiya Supra?
Depends on if the wheels are either female or male, i just looked at the kit and you need male rims for the supra. A lot of people here make the car stationary, because its a static model. What you can do if you get female rims is convert them to male using one of the tutorials here or just glue it in place. Most of the time you have to tweak the suspension so that the wheel goes on the brake rotor correctly (straight). Different ways of doing that also. Once you get the rims, post some progress pics in the WIP street and hopefully someone here can help you out. BTW, what i would do if i was you is fit the wheels first dry fit, some surgery if needed, a little super glue. And then see how it looks, if not up to par repair. Once you got how you want your wheels take them off paint whatever and do the rest of the model. This basically helps not mess up, scratch, chip brake the body or various parts of the model. Hope this helped a little, can't really explain myself thoroughly.

Also like you stated, the rim might be bigger and just putting the male part on the wheel might do the trick or it might touch the wheel fender (inside arch)

Aoshima Gram lights from the D1 Grand prix series No 132 should be ok as they are the male type of fitting the same as Tamiya, i used a set on the Tamiya Honda S2000.
