Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift!

I went back a few pages and noticed that no one has talked about this movie. So I thought I would bring it up as I am in here quite often. Has anyone seen it?

I saw it out of curiousity nearly 3 weeks ago with my girlfriend...To tell you the truth I really liked it! Especially when they dropped in the Nissan Twin-Cam engine into the fastback Mustang

Hahaha, it made me want to want to shoot the director, especially when it made the nice muscle car rumble, opposed to the winding ricer sound which it should have in reality. Tell me what you think.

I hope some stupid teenager wouldn't actually try to perform a drift after watching that movie on there way to Taco Bell and almost tip over their stationwagon...that would be bad...

Re: Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift!

The cool thing about going to see it on the day it came out was that the local shops brought out their shop cars for promotion. Which meant I saw the EDO perfomances R33 Skyline, which was absoutely gorgeous. The movie was actually pretty good, and I must say that the characters and the dialogue were much more interesting than the first two movies combined, multiplied by infinity, and then squared.

Nice, thats pretty cool I wish my town had done that. My favorite one was still the first, the first ones always seem better to me.

Re: Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift!

Unfortunately.. everyone who saw the movie came "drifting" out of the parking lot and readily calling themselves Drift Kings. Lucky for them, the police were all over that haha. I'm still finding a lot of kids "drifting" with their Cavaliers and other non-RWD vehicles. It's interesting to wake up and find a car on your sidewalk because some dumb kid slid their car into a curb and collapsed their axle.. Silly kids.. you don't cut the apex THAT close, aha.

yeah its sad that all of these hondas and cavs are trying to drift now... and pretty annoying... it does make me miss my s13 a little though.. but if i still drove that everyone would want to race me on a downhill while drifting every corner .. I live on the east coast by the way!

we actually did talk about this movie, but maybe only in the OT thread. but we already said everything that has been said, we predicted stuff that would happen, knew what everyone would say, and now that the planets are about to align, you can now use automotiveoforums.com as your official Tarot card or crystal ball reader

It was the worst of the three. I wish I hadn't gone to see it.

Re: Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift!

I liked it more than the second one. Was it just me or did it seem like every car in that movie had tons of rice put into it? Even cars that where just passing by in the streets seemed all "riced" out and fly lookin. Has anyone here ever been to Tokyo and can relate?

Re: Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift!

The movie was filmed in California, not Tokyo.

Re: Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift!

I previously posted on this movie, and I have to say that it was "alright" but definitely not near as good as the 1st one, and not as good as the 2nd, either.

Re: Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift!

Actually, some parts of the film were filmed in Tokyo, but were highly illegal and that's why they shot most of it in California.

Re: Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift!

I got the worst of it...I have kids around my neighborhood with old CRXs and crap trying to drift and record it. They're so freakin' pathetic that they would put plastic caps (like the size of a big bucket of paint) around their back tire so they could actually do doughnuts and stuff. Ugh...I outta go out there and whack 'em.
