key won't come out

i need to know how to get the darn key out of the ing. asap it won't come out..it is in park..

I had the same thing happen on my 96 Escort... If and when you get the key out it won't go back in and you won't be able to start tha car at all....... You will have to have new lock put in.. Has to be drilled in two places to get the pins out. I got a new lock (autozone online only) and had a locksmith do it for 100.00 (lock was 27.00) You have to know just where to drill so you don't mess up the holder or the wiring.. Hope this helps...

If you don't remove the key, removing the tumbler is fairly easy.
Disconnect negative battery cable
Turn the ignition lock to the run position
You will see a little hole on the tumbler. insert a small allen wrench (stiff wire, straightened paper clip) and release the tumbler.
Try cleaning and lubricating the tumbler or otherwise replace.

try turning the wheel back and forth and then try pulling the key out, and try shifting from park to nuetral and back to park and try again.
