Autolite spark plugs? Anyone

00 silverado 5.3L

I didn't want to get the iridium plugs so I decided to give Autolite Platinum a try since it has a 3 year warranty and was only $2.59. Does anyone have any input on this brand of plug? I was going to go with NGK but the warranty was only 1 year.

If these don't work then I will try to hunt down the ac/delco platinums that the truck came with.

Nothing but NGK TR55s in any of my gm products......TR60s when the spray is going to be used. Simply the best and cheap to boot

Yea, I decided to get the original AC Delco. I didn't want to go with the iridium becasue I heared a few complaints. I figure if the others work fine why change them. I just visited AutoZone's website and they have the originals for $5.99. I'm going to pick them up. I already took the Autolites back to O'reillys.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Come give people advice when you actually own a silverado and have been running the hell out of one for several years. Do a search for any of us actually taking these things to the track and you'll see that by far the most popular plug for these trucks is the NGk TR55s.

Re: Autolite spark plugs? Anyone

Not just Asian cars use NGK's OEM. I'm pretty sure VW does, just off the top of my head.

Always check what the good book calls for.
And then check the latest AC-delco spark plug book.
You OEM plugs was AC-delco 41-931 at 60" gap.
My 2003 AC spark plug book shows a change to AC-Delco 41-985 at 40"
Have your local parts place or dealer check the latest applacation.
Autolights are used and perfered by some people for high performance or racing.
Also a note on GM some models are now using Denso/NGK plugs in OEM
Good luck

I have ran the Bosch Platinum +4 in my 2000 Silverado and is used them in my 93 Silverado.. I have never had a problem and you do not have to worry about gapping
