Complete: What the heck? A gravity racer?

Complete (mostly, still needs bolt heads and dzus fasteners, but it's all locked away so this is as complete as it's gonna be for almost a month). I made this using Tamiya's 1:48 Citroen 11CV kit, a seat from the AMT 49 Ford, an MCG photoetch brake pedal, and the steering wheel from Hasagawa's 1600 Celica. The rest is scratchbuilt. The chassis is made from evergreen rod of a couple diameters, bent and cut and Tenax'd together. First time I used Tenax, it's awesome! The stuff bonds in seconds. The body is shaved and smoothed a bit so it looks generic, because it's not really a model but a 1/2 size model, in 1:24 (that's why it's 1:48). Anyway, I'm rambling, this is so unorganized, but I'm trying to get this post in befor I pack up the computer.

Seat has SMS faux fabric on it, and the steering box does too, followed by metallics to make it look cast. The brakes are sort of plumbed, and the cables are held down with "tape" by BMF.

Looks like a ratfink type creation. Will..where is your driver!!!! Gravity would pull the car...yea..but someone needs to steer it. Love the colors too!!

Re: Complete: What the heck? A gravity racer?

This is a really cool refreshing project. And a very clean build too. They dont only run on gravity thou, some have a boost of imagination also. When I was about 6 or so I believe mine had about 1100 hp with rocket boosters just in case (sound provided by driver).

Great! that looks supersilly and I love it!

Now if you could get us some comparison shots with other models, that would be even nicer, like for instance next to your hilux...

Superb jobby, mister!

Cool

Can we run it down a Hot Wheels stunt track to see how fast it is?
