91 GPrix won t stay running
I have a 91 GPrix 3.1 motor. It will start and idle but you try to tach motor up to about 1,500 rpm in park it wants to shut off. Had it in a shop to have it checked for a code no codes show up. Fuel pump is showing the right pressure running or not running.
Any idea s please?

Re: 91 GPrix won t stay running
Do you have spark when it cuts off? If your fuel pressure has been tested and is within spec, you need to check for loss of spark and/or injector pulse when the car tries to die. Another thing to try is an ECM "tap test". REmove the plastic cover under the coolant overflow bottle in the passenger side fenderwell. Start the car and let it idle until it warms up, then tap on the ECM with a screwdriver handle or rubber mallet (remember to TAP, not BASH). If the car dies or studders, your ECM is bad and is the cause of your issue. If the ECM passes the tap test, you may have a bad crank position sensor, ignition contro module (that can be taken off and tested for free and Auto-Zone/Advance) or coil pack(s).

Re: 91 GPrix won t stay running
All the sensors and computer have been swapped with new onestoo see if it is one it was not. I put new coil paks on myself and wires plus checked the plugs which r 2 mo. old. The garage its at I think they said a week injec pulse. I don t know much about injection.
