Tiger's Den Hobbies update, for those who were interested

Just an update so far on the business venture guys.

I've decided not to bother with a customer-facing retail store. At least for now. In terms of overhead costs, it's simply not feasible for me. So instead, we're buying a house, and opening the business there. The online store will be my bread and butter (I hope), and my build services are already off to a good start. I have 4 paid customers lined up, which is about all I can handle in my little apartment office right now (one is the T-Bird Supercoupe in Street W.I.P. btw)... but I have many more lined up. I think this could actually work.

In about a year maybe, I'l assess the cashflow of the business and decide wether I should open a storefront in the house or not.

But it really is a no-brainer; I can pay $700 a month in rent for my apartment and anywhere from $1500-1800 a month for a store, or I can pay $1000-1200 a month for a mortgage payment. That, and I can write off a lot of utilities, and a percentage of the mortgage. It'll also allow me to not be tied down 8 hrs a day to a store, so I can tour around to race tracks, cruise nights and car shows more and hawk my services.

So anyway, I know a few of you at least were interested in where this is going. The website is unofficially open (if you want the url, PM me, apparently we're not allowed to do that right now). The store's empty, since I have nowhere to put inventory right now, but it'll be opened as soon as we move into the house. Until then it's basically just there to make people aware of my Build and Paint services, and look at my work.

Comments and critiques are certainly welcome. Again, thanks for all your support guys

Out of curiosity how are you getting wholesale pricing on items? Most reputable distributors require a store front to receive dealer pricing.

Er, well, I hope that's not the case lol ... Besides, there are several online hobby stores that seem to have normal prices, and one off the top of my head I know does not have a storefront...

scour ebay for the lost gems that would bring some higher prices at a store!
