URGENT HELP !!! soooooooo close

My car would not boost over 9psi and I was gonna sell it today. 30 mins ago ,I was reading one of Kevins posts on adjusting the waste gate actuator and it FIXED MY BOOST. I put 1 washer between the actuator and the turbo and since I am clueless of how to set my boost control on HI or LO I put it on OFF which is suppost to be stock boost. I hit the gas and then at 2nd at about 3500 rpms boost controller read 17-18psi and my car rocketed down the street. Of course I have 1 fake coupler left on my IC piping and that thing blew like outward and ripped itself. OK, so now I kow I am not selling my car and thanks to Kevin I can finally beat the 9 pounds of boost. BUT, my wastegate was loose when without a washer, but a little bit tight if I put 1 washer in there but it fixes my boost problem. So I have a feeling if I redline it I will get into 20 pounds of boost. But that is too damn much for stock fuel system, stock injectors, I dont know much about my fuel system but how is it possible for me to hit 18psi at 3500rpms? How do i know my wastegate actuator is not too tight and might now open my wastegate ? I cant control boost and I dont want a blown engine right now so I am clueless of what to do or test next.

Please give me some feedback. Thanks all and Kevin especially for saving my GSX.

Why can't you control boost? I'm not sure I completely understand your problem. If it's overboosting, then you just need to turn the boost back down to your "low" setting or whatever you had it at.

uninstall the boost controller, this will find out if the problem is with the wastegate sticking shut or the bc itself

Re: URGENT HELP !!! soooooooo close

I dont know if it will ease your mind at all, but I have Comp 101200/Fp2 cams in my car on a big 16g and an extrude honed intake manifold. When I put the MBC in my car (before she blew up), we thought that screwed all the way down was stock boost. Nope. On the first pull with the boost controller, we put down ~21 psi without hitting fuel cut at around 4600-5000 rpms (yes, I know it was boosting uber late). Granted, as soon as I realized it was supposed to be down around 12 psi, I let off and screwed it out to 15 psi. I took her to redline a couple times after that on 15 psi and no fuel cut then either.

EDIT: Also no CEL so the knock couldnt have been bad enough to throw a CEL.

What am I? Chopped liver? I diagnosed that, and gave you the link to the thread j/k

What's the problem? Just turn the boost down. Go back and read the article, and adjust the WGA just like it says. It says you will get boost creep if it's too tight, is that what you have? Doesn't sound like it. Why can't you turn the boost down?
